ReportCenter Reports

This section focuses on how to access reports and provides detailed descriptions of each report type. For an overview of the reports available in ReportCenter, with tables indicating PacketShaper statistics they contain, see Reports Overview.

Access Reports

To access reports you first log on to the ReportCenter Report Server using a web browser, then select the Reports tab in the black navigation bar. The Reports page appears.

Report Categories

The reports available in ReportCenter are divided into three main categories, Device reports, Application reports, and Host reports.
Note: The Hosts category is not listed unless you have configured a Collection Agent to receive Flow Detail Record (FDR) information.

Device Reports

Device reports are based on information that relates to an entire PacketShaper, or group of PacketShapers, instead of relating to only one or more applications. Statistics used in device reports are gathered from the link component which includes both the Inbound and Outbound links in a PacketShaper.

Application Reports

Application reports are based on information that relates to a specific traffic class as identified by a single PacketShaper, or a group of PacketShapers. ReportCenter associates traffic classes reported by your PacketShapers with applications known to operate across networks.

Host Reports

Host reports are based on Flow Detail Record information that is optionally transmitted by one or more PacketShapers to a Flow Collection Agent that has been designated to receive Flow Detail Records. You can see detailed information about top listeners, top talkers, top conversation pairs, and many other session related statistics. The Host Reports category will not appear in the Report Selector drop-down unless you have configured at least one Flow Collection Agent.

Note: Some reports need raw data to draw graphs. If the original raw data has expired these reports will appear with the message no data available in place of the graphs. You can archive reports while the raw data is still available to preserve them with all graphs intact for later examination.

Custom Reports

You can create Custom Reports of your own design using the Custom Reports Wizard in the ReportCenter web interface. To access the wizard and design your own reports use the Custom Reports tab on the Administration Page. Custom Reports that you create will appear in the drop-down menu of their assigned category for all ReportCenter user accounts.
