Queries and Flow Queries

ReportCenter contains a dynamic query facility you can use to access data based on pre-defined query templates.

Queries are divided into two types:

• A Query provides access to statistics produced by the measurement engine in a PacketShaper and gathered by the Collection Agent process acording to the Poll Intervals schedule.
• A Flow Query provides access to the Flow Detail Records that are optionally emitted by PacketShapers using UDP transmissions to a designated Flow Collection Agent. Flow queries are available only if you are using the optional Flow Detail License for ReportCenter and you are also using version 7.0.0 of PacketWise software in at least one PacketShaper.

For access to the most recent information available in ReportCenter you can choose raw as the time aggregation when performing a Query.

ReportCenter Administrator Console Interface

When you perform a query you can select the traffic class, partition, link, PacketShaper, or group to which the query will apply using the network tree in the left-hand panel. To get started using the Administrator Console to access reports, connect to the ReportCenter Report Server using the Administartor Console, drop-down the Tools menu and select Perform Query or Perform Flow Query. Drill-down in the network tree on the left side of the ReportCenter Administrator Console window until you can select the traffic class, partition, or other component for which you want to perform a query.
