Define Report Server
Use the Define > Report Server menu option in the ReportCenter Administrator Console to configure default report settings, email configuration, trend reporting baseline values, and database rollup properties.
Email and Miscellaneous
Drop-down the Define menu and select Report Server to configure email settings for ReportCenter and page layout options for reports. The Report Server Properties dialog appears.
 |
Under E-mail configuration enter the server name of your SMTP outgoing mail server, and the user name that will be used in the from field for messages sent by ReportCenter. Some methods of authentication used on SMTP servers will require a valid user name in the from field. ReportCenter does not support password authentication for SMTP.
Note: The email settings you configure here are used when you configure ReportCenter to email reports, and also when you configure email messages for alert conditions using the Define > Alerts menu option.
The Force e-mail time option determines the time of day when scheduled email events will occur even if they were waiting for a process that has not yet completed. Scheduled emails are sent when all end of day activities are completed, or end of day is forced, or at least when the Force e-mail time is reached.
Under Miscellaneous enter the number of rows you want to display on each table generated by ReportCenter. The default value is 10.
Also under Miscellaneous specify the number of rows you want to display on each report sent via e-mail. You can specify from one to 100,000 rows. The default value is 100.
Click OK to finish, or select the Trend Settings or Database Rollup tabs to continue configuring the Report Server.

Trend Settings
Use the Trend Settings tab of the Report Server Properties dialog to configure baseline attributes for trend reporting.
 |
Trend Baseline Weeks Indicate the total range of past weeks of baseline data to use to calculate the utilization trend. The default value is 3 and must not be lower than 3. This value determines how many weeks of data appear on a Trending Report.
Minimum Weeks to Trend Indicate the minimum number of past weeks of baseline data that must be available in the database before a trend report can be prepared. You can set Trend Baseline Weeks to a value higher than Minimum Weeks to Trend. In this case ReportCenter will use the Trend Baseline Weeks value in a trend report if that much data is available, but a report can still be prepared if only the Minimum Weeks to Trend is available.
Trend Baseline Sample Weeks Indicate the actual number of past weeks of baseline data to use to calculate the utilization trend. The number of weeks you indicate will be selected from the trend baseline weeks of data. The default value is 3 and must not be lower than 3. Unless you have thousands of PacketShapers, this value should be the same as for Trend Baseline Weeks. In very large installations reducing this value may allow faster calculation of trend reports.
Trend Prediction Weeks Indicate the number of weeks over which you want to predict future utilization trends.
Trend Fields Indicate whether you want ReportCenter to generate trend exception information for Utilization, Peak Utilization, or both.
Note: In order to populate the Utilization and Peak Utilization fields with data you must also enable these measurements in the Performance Profile assigned to your PacketShapers.
Note: ReportCenter must collect at least three full weeks of data before Trend Reports will be available.

Database Rollup
Use the Database Rollup tab of the Report Server Properties dialog to configure the way older data is aged in the Oracle database used by ReportCenter.
 |
Type appropriate information to define how long the Report Server retains data.
Number For each type of data, type the number of days, weeks, months, or years after which you want the report data deleted.
Time Frame Control Box Select the time frame for deleting each type of data: Days, Weeks, Months, or Years.
Click OK to finish.
