Administer ReportCenterThis section of PacketGuide for ReportCenter provides details on administering ReportCenter. Included is information on defining your network, and configuring devices, components, alerts, and collection agents. Also included is information on the ReportCenter license, creating and modifying performance profiles, configuring raw data granularity and the Report Server, setting report hours, maintaining site names, creating, deleting and editing user accounts, and creating Custom Reports. All of these are tasks you can perform to control the use and operation of ReportCenter after you have successfully installed the software and configured it for initial use. Three Administration InterfacesThere are three distinct interfaces used to control the various configuration parameters, individual user settings, and background processes used by ReportCenter. For most administration tasks you will use the ReportCenter Administrator Console program. In the navigation bar on the left of this page, all of the items from Define Network through User Accounts relate to tasks you perform using the Define menu in the Administrator Console. The ReportCenter Report Server also includes an Administration page you reach by connecting to the server with a web browser and clicking the Administration tab in the top navigation bar. This page is used to view and reset statistics, edit the list of favorite reports, create custom reports, and maintain the password and email parameters for the current user. ReportCenter includes a third method for management and control, in addition to the Administrator Console and web interfaces to ReportCenter. The ReportCenter Manager and Control Panel is a program that is installed on the PC that hosts the ReportCenter Report Server. In a ReportCenter installation that includes multiple Collection Agents it is also installed on each PC hosting a Collection Agent. To access the Manager and Control Panel you must use the desktop of the ReportCenter Server or remote Collection Agent. This utility allows you to verify and control the status of the processes that together form a complete ReportCenter system.
