Use the File Browser

The Packeteer File Browser is a convenient way to access files on the PacketShaper's flash disk and hard drive(s). With the File Browser, you can determine how much space is available on the unit's flash disk and hard drives, see what files and directories are on your unit, and view and edit certain types of files.

In addition, the File Browser has tools that allow you to:

To use the file browser:

  1. Click the info tab.

  2. Click file browser. The File Browser window appears.  show screen

This screen lists the available volumes, their capacities, and available disk space. The flash disk is named 9.256, the first hard drive is named 9.258, and subsequent drives (when offered) are named 9.514, 9.770, 9.1026, and so forth.

  3. To change to another drive or directory, click its name in the Name column. You may need to use the scroll bar to see additional directories. (See Packeteer Directories for descriptions.)

Note that PacketWise uses an 8.3 file naming convention; you cannot store longer file names on the unit.
