Application Policy Manager
With the Application Policy Manager, you can easily manage the quality of service (QoS) of applications on your network. For example, QoS can be used to give video transmissions higher priority over recreational web-browsing traffic. The Application Policy Manager offers three ways to ensure quality of service:
- MPLS Class of Service (COS) A way of managing traffic in a network by grouping similar types of traffic (for example, email, streaming video, voice, FTP) together and assigning different levels of service priority.
- Priority Policies A bandwidth allocation rule that sets the relative precedence for traffic. The priority determines the importance of the application.
- Partitions A bandwidth pipe assigned to a given application to protect or restrict all of its flows.
