Enter the serial number of your unit. 4. Select the software version you want to download and follow the onscreen instructions. 5. Verify the file was downloaded successfully. Copy the Image to the PacketShaperUse an FTP client to copy a PacketWise image to your PacketShaper hard drive. 1. At the MS-DOS prompt, change to the directory containing the software image. 2. To open an FTP session to the unit, type: ftp <ipaddress> where <ipaddress> is the IP address of the unit (for example, ftp 207.78.98.254). You can also type the domain name. When you press Enter, the screen messages indicate that the connection has been made and that the server is ready. 3. Press Enter to bypass the user name. 4. Enter the unit's touch password. 5. Enter bin to go into binary mode. 6. Optional: To turn hash printing on, enter hash. (With hash enabled, you will see a "#" symbol for every 2K transferred.) 7. To select the unit's hard drive as the FTP destination, type: cd 9.258/ 8. To transfer the file to the unit, type: put <filename> where <filename> is the name of the file you are copying to the unit (for example, put latest.zoo). After you press Enter, the file will be transferred. 9. Exit the FTP session. Load the New Software ImageOnce the image is on the PacketShaper hard drive, you need to load the image. 1. Access the CLI. 2. To select the unit's hard drive as the source directory, type: cd 9.258/ 3. To load the new image, type: image load <filename> where <filename> is the name of the file you copied to the unit (for example, image load latest.zoo). After you press Enter, you will be asked to confirm the process. Press Enter to proceed. 4. When the process is complete, close the window. 5. To confirm that the new version was installed, access the PacketWise software by entering the unit's URL in your web browser. After you log in, the software version number will appear in the info tab. Service Unknown MessageWhen you load a different version of PacketWise software, you may see Service Unknown configuration error messages. This message appears because a traffic class is associated with a service that is not known to the version of software you are using. For example, if you are using PacketWise 7.2 and create a class based on RemotelyAnywhere a service new to 7.2 and then revert to PacketWise 7.1, the RemotelyAnywhere class will have a Service Unknown configuration error. You may also see this message if you have removed a plug-in or if the unit is attached to a version of PolicyCenter that doesnt recognize the service. If you get the Service Unknown message for a class, deleting the class or changing the service type will eliminate the error message. See also: |
