Download Plug-Ins Using the PacketWise Browser Interface

Note: Xpress plug-ins work only on Xpress-capable units, and should not be downloaded/installed on non-Xpress units.

To download plug-in files:

1. Click the setup tab on the navigation bar.

2. From the Choose Setup Page list, select plug-ins. The plug-ins screen is displayed.  show screen)

3. Click fetch list to display a list of plug-ins on the Packeteer updates server. The Remote box lists the available plug-ins for your version of PacketWise software.

4. Click a file in the Remote list and look at the plug-in file description, name, and version at the bottom of the screen.

5. To select a file to download, click add. The plug-in file is listed in the Local list.

6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for any other plug-in files you want to download.

7. Click apply changes.

A message appears at the bottom of the window, instructing you to go to the Plug-In Descriptions area of Packeteer's support website and view the readme file associated with the plug-in.

The plug-in files are not activated until you reset. To reset the device:

1. From the Choose Setup Page list in the setup tab, select unit resets.

2. Click reset device.

3. Click OK to reset. After a moment, the login screen will appear.

Note: If downloading didn't work (perhaps because the corporate LAN is private or because a security policy or firewall is in place), you can download the plug-ins from the Packeteer support website on a computer that is not subject to these restrictions.
