Distribute Images, Plug-Ins, Action Files and Customer Portal Files

The file distribution service allows you to easily distribute files to PacketShapers assigned to a PolicyCenter sharable configuration. This service uses HTTP (or optionally HTTPS) to copy files from the PolicyCenter file distribution library to individual units. It replaces the previous PolicyCenter image distribution service, which relied on peer-to-peer FTP copies among units. The new file distribution service supports image, plug-in, and portal files, and can be configured and managed through the PolicyCenter web-browser or command-line interfaces.

Note: Before you start distributing files to PacketShapers subscribed to PolicyCenter, you must first add the files to your file distribution library. To update your file library, you can configure the file distribution server to automatically download the latest files from the Packeteer website or manually add files to the appropriate folder on your PolicyCenter server.
