Rename a PacketShaper in PolicyCenter

You may want to rename a unit to reflect changes in its configuration, or when you assign it to a new configuration. For example, a unit named Office_12 may be renamed to Sales_12 if it is removed from the configuration Branch_offices and reassigned to the configuration Western_sales. A unit's default name is its serial number.

To rename a unit:

  1. Access the PolicyCenter browser interface and select the configurations tab.

  2. Click on the unit name of the unit you wish to rename. The unit options window opens.  show screen

  3. Provide a new name in the rename unit field. The name can be 20 characters long, including a-z, A-Z, -,_, and . (period). Spaces are not allowed in the unit name.

  4. Click apply changes.

Note: Long names can be distorted in the browser interface. This will not affect any functionality, and can be fixed by assigning a shorter name to the unit.
