Distribute Action Files
Prescribe a group of action files to all PacketShapers assigned to
a PolicyCenter configuration by creating portfolios, individual
folders of customer portal files. The following procedure assumes you
have already created your action files and grouped them into portfolios.
If you have not yet done this, see PolicyCenter
Action file Portfolios and Creating
a New Action File
To prescribe a portfolio of action
files to a PolicyCenter configuration and its assigned units:
- Select a PolicyCenter configuration from the Editing Configuration
drop-down list.
- Click the setup tab.
- From the Choose Setup Page list, choose action file distribution.
- Select a synchronization option. If you want to distribute the prescribed
action files immediately, you may keep the default asap option.
To change the synchronization option, click the synchronization
drop-down list and select the scheduled option to select a specific
time to distribute the files. Note: If you selected the scheduled synchronization
option, you will not be able to apply your changes until you have created
a synchronization schedule.
- If you selected the asap synchronization option, or you have
already created a schedule for the scheduled option, click apply
changes. Otherwise, follow the steps below to create a schedule
to synchronize the PolicyCenter units to their assigned configuration.
To create a schedule to synchronize
PolicyCenter units to their assigned configuration:
- Click the schedule link on the PolicyCenter Action File
Distribution page.
- The add schedule entry window opens. Enter your time and date
choices, and (optionally) any email addresses that should be notified
when the scheduled synchronization occurs.
- Click OK on the add schedule entry window.
- Click apply changes on the PolicyCenter Action File Distribution
page to save your changes.
Next, select the portfolio of action
files you want to prescribe for the configuration. The Prescribed Files
window in the Action File Distribution page lists all the action files in the portfolio currently assigned to that configuration. To assign
a new portfolio of action files to the selected configuration:
- Click change prescription. The Action File Prescription
window opens.
- Click the New Prescription drop-down list, then select a portfolio
of action files.
- Click change prescription.
