PolicyCenter Configurations Tasks

PolicyCenter is a software management system for managing up to 200 Packeteer units. Multiple units operating in shared mode can be managed together through a single PolicyCenter configuration. When you make changes to a PolicyCenter configuration, all units assigned to that configuration can automatically inherit the new values.

The tasks described in this section are specific to PolicyCenter configurations, and cannot be performed from the user interface of an individual Packeteer unit. These tasks will enable you to add, edit, and move configurations within the PolicyCenter configuration tree.

Many other Packeteer tasks for Setup, Classification, Traffic Tree Management, Event Notification, Customer Portal Administration, Adaptive Response, Scheduling Commands and Creating Command Files can be performed on both an individual unit operating independently, and a PolicyCenter configuration. When the PolicyCenter icon shown to the left appears beside a task, it indicates that the described task can be performed both on the individual unit, and on a PolicyCenter configuration.
