Rename a Configuration in PolicyCenter

You may want to rename a configuration to reflect changes in its attributes and settings, or to help identify the configuration after you move it under a new parent. For example, a child configuration named Branch_12 may be renamed to Sales_12 if it is moved from the parent configuration Branch_offices to the parent configuration Western_sales.

To rename a configuration:

  1. Click the rename button on the upper toolbar. A Configuration Options screen appears.  show screen

  2. Select configuration to be renamed from the Rename Configuration drop-down list.

  3. Provide a new name. The name can be 20 characters long, including a-z, A-Z, -,_, and . (period). Spaces are not allowed in the configuration name.

  4. Click rename.

Note: Individual configuration names over 20 characters can be distorted in the browser interface. Child configurations with a path name more than 30 characters long may not display properly also. This will not affect any functionality, and can be fixed by assigning a shorter name to the configuration.
