Upgrading PolicyCenter

Upgrade Number of Supported Units

When you first purchase PolicyCenter, you will be given a keycode that allows your PolicyCenter deployment to support a specific number of units. You may upgrade PolicyCenter to support a larger number of units by purchasing an upgrade keycode from Packeteer, and entering the keycode on the options tab of the PolicyCenter browser interface.

To upgrade the number of PacketShapers you can add to PolicyCenter:

  1. Click the options tab in PolicyCenter.

  2. Enter the maximum number of units supported by the keycode in the Number of units field.

Note: You must enter the maximum number of units allowed by your keycode, even if you plan on adding fewer units to PolicyCenter. For example, if you purchased an upgrade keycode to support 100 PacketShapers but only wanted to add 85 units to PolicyCenter, you would still enter the number 100.

  3. Enter the keycode and keycode expiration date, then Click upgrade.

  4. A popup window will ask you to confirm that you want to upgrade. Click Ok.

Upgrade PolicyCenter Software

For details on upgrading your PolicyCenter software to a more recent version, refer to the PolicyCenter Release Notes for that software release.
