PolicyCenter Server Security
Procedures to allow or disallow access to the PolicyCenter software
and Directory Server.
In addition to several different types of password protection for its
configurations, access to the PolicyCenter directory server itself can
be restricted with passwords, secure logins, and RADIUS authentication.
Select one of the following for additional information on setting PolicyCenter
security.
- Passwords
Change passwords for both PolicyCenter and the Sun ONE Directory
Server.
- RADIUS Authentication
If you want to take advantage of your RADIUS (third-party software)
user authentication, login, and accounting features, you can integrate
PolicyCenter and RADIUS.
- HTTPS
PolicyCenter is automatically configured to run HTTP over SSL on port
443. You can select a different listening port for configuration, or
for the PolicyCenter software itself. This screen also has a button
for generating a new digital certificate for PolicyCenter if you believe
the certificates security was compromised.
- SSH
The PolicyCenter is automatically configured to run SSH on port 22.
If you use the SSH setup window to select a different listening port
for a configuration, all units assigned to this configuration apply
the new setting.
