Download a File

You can use the File Browser to download or save a file from the PacketShaper or PacketSeeker unit to a PC or network drive.

Note: In Microsoft Internet Explorer, you can download binary and text files. In Netscape Navigator, you can download text files only.

Binary Files

To download a binary file from your Packeteer unit:

  1. In the File Browser, navigate to the drive and directory containing the file to download.

  2. Click the filename to download. A download window appears.  show screen

    Note:
If you see the contents of the file instead of a download window, the file you selected is a text file or you are using a Netscape browser. You cannot download binary files in Netscape.

  3. Choose the save option and select the destination location on your PC or network.

3. Save the file on a local or network drive:

Internet Explorer: Right-click in the window and choose View Source from the menu. Choose File > Save As and save the file to your PC or a network drive.

Netscape: Right-click in the window and choose Save Page As from the menu. Save the file to your PC or a network drive.
